Distanced Socializing Devotional- 40

For Monday, our devotional has been prepared by Teena Faubel, a member of our congregation and one of our laity delegates to Annual Conference.

Scripture: Colossians 3:12

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

Reflection

I’ve always admired Mother Teresa. Her unselfish devotion to the unfortunate of India speaks to me of what Jesus would do. She lived the Bible verse above. No matter our stage in life, we do well to remember those words -- and the words of Mother Teresa below.

"People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.

If you find happiness, people will be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.

For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."

-MOTHER TERESA

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me wake up with a grateful heart. Help me count my blessings, share kindness, help someone in need and remind me to let go of what I can’t control. Guide me through these trying days in Jesus’ name. Amen
