Scripture Psalm 121: 5-8.
“The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forever more.”
Reflection
Most of my friends and acquaintances know my dog, Dora. She’s a Shetland sheep dog—bred to guard and herd flocks of sheep. I am her flock of sheep. My apartment has a fenced and gated patio, and Dora places her three stuffed toys along the fence—one on each side. When she notices someone walking past, she barks, then grabs a toy and runs along the fence, until the person is out of sight. Dora’s constant watch over me reminds me that God is watching over all of us during this pandemic.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for guarding us during this trying time. Strengthen our faith in your watch over our lives. Heal those who are ill and bless those who care for the sick. Amen.
