For Tuesday, our devotional has been prepared by Teena Faubel, a member of our congregation and one of our laity delegates to Annual Conference. Scripture: Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus Reflection
This is a Bible passage that has always spoken to me. When I have lost family members, it comforted me. In times of stress, it calmed me down. Recently I had a health scare and waiting for the results was a long week. Each day, reading this passage helped me through the long wait. Whatever the outcome, I knew that God was with me and that it was in his hands. Even in happy times, this passage reminds me to be grateful for all that I have and all that I am able to do. Even now, with all this uncertainty, I know that God is with us.
Prayer Lord God, Thank you for being with us during the good times and the bad. Your presence gives us comfort in these uncertain times. Be with us as we move forward. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Announcements
ConnectioN Point food pantry. Pastor Beth and Willa Grange are working very hard to keep OpeN Shelf, our food pantry, open on Tuesday’s and Friday’s during the coronavirus crisis. We are currently running low on canned tuna and canned soups, such as tomato and chicken noodle. If you’d like to help us re-stock those important food items, you can drop off canned soups and tuna (and other non-perishable food items) at Christ UMC, placing them in the grocery cart just by the outside doors (be sure to wear your masks). Alternatively, you can support by sending a financial donation. If you would like to donate by check, make the check out to Christ UMC and write “OpeN Shelf” in the memo line. Then, mail the check to the church. Or you can contribute electronically through pushpay by going to:
