Reflection:
Recently we returned from a trip ‘down under’ to Australia and New Zealand. We returned to a homeland full of anxiety, uncertainty and fear because of the COVID-19 virus. We were fortunate enough to arrive before the hoards of passengers fleeing Europe returned. We did not have to undergo the testing as we stepped off the plane.
While ‘sheltering in place’ these past three weeks, I have had the opportunity to review, remember and reflect on the beauty I had seen on our awesome travels. In the midst of this pandemic I was reminded of the beauty that surrounds us. In the world there are beautiful mountains, lush tropical rain forests, cold, clear glacial lakes and rivers, flat plains of farmland. The world is full of amazingly diverse animals and diverse, wonderful, friendly, helpful people.
Instead of focusing on the uncertainty facing us, I choose to dwell on and remember how beautiful God’s creation truly is, thanking Him for His creation.
Prayer
Creator God, thank You for Your wonderfully diverse creation. It truly is a beautiful world full of amazing landscapes and people. I thank you for the opportunity and ability to experience it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
